Add to that the benefits of not having to find a place to park, feed a meter or a fuel tank &#8211; and riding the convenient and low cost Ocean City MD bus system just makes good sense. For a mere <a title="Fare Box on the OC Buses" href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/img_2079.JPG"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/img_2079.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Fare Box on the OC Buses" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="right" /></a>$2.00 you can ride all day – up and down Coastal Highway from the Delaware border to the Boardwalk at the Inlet, or west over the Route 50 bridge to the super convenient <strong>“Park &amp; Ride”</strong> or the <em>White Marlin/Outlet Shopping Center</em> in West Ocean City and back again…over and over. A terrific way to enjoy all that Ocean City has to offer anytime. Enter a bus at any one of the <a title="Beach goers on the OC Bus" href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/img_2081.JPG"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/img_2081.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Beach goers on the OC Bus" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="left" /></a>numerous, well-marked stops located anywhere in town, pay the driver, receive your day pass and be on your way. The buses here at the beach run frequently (every 10 minutes in season) and are clean and airy, sometimes filled with happy folks heading to and from the beach along with area workers heading off to their jobs. <a title="South Division Street Station" href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/img_2078.JPG"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/img_2078.thumbnail.JPG" alt="South Division Street Station" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="right" /></a>Many offer convenient wheelchair and handicapped access. And, a well marked “bus lane” that runs nearly the entire length of Coastal Highway makes for safe and easy access and egress for everyone. For locals and visitors alike using the bus in our town is one great bargain! Traveling by scooter allows easy access to the multitude of great entertainment sites and eateries <a title="Motor scooters galore, Ocean City MD" href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1032.JPG"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1032.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Motor scooters galore, Ocean City MD" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="right" /></a>that line Coastal Highway. It’s a fun and “cool” way to go – to &#8220;get around&#8221;, eliminating most of the hassles of seeking a parking spot during the busiest season. On island, there are several places to rent one of these sleek looking vehicles by the hour or the day. And, if you are lucky enough to already own a scooter several shops also offer repair services. As for cost of fuel…not <a title="Sleek touring at the beach! Ocean City MD" href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1036.JPG"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1036.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Sleek touring at the beach! Ocean City MD" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="left" /></a>much, an especially welcome advantage in this day of rising gasoline prices. Of course, driving a motor scooter at the beach requires the same set of regulations <a title="KC Beachwear - Scooter Sales &amp; Rentals" href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/img_1651.JPG"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/img_1651.thumbnail.JPG" alt="KC Beachwear - Scooter Sales &amp; Rentals" hspace="5" vspace="5" align="right" /></a>as for any other motorized vehicle with a few exceptions. These may be found on this <a title="MD State Laws for Motor Scooters" href="http://www.sha.state.md.us/exploremd/bicyclists/oppe/laws/acom_bike_laws4.pdf%20-%202007-01-16" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">website</span></a>. And, be sure to ask when renting about any laws specific to Ocean City. Your vacation experience is important – help make it a good one! Always drive safely!<br />

The 2.9 mile stretch of boardwalk is an easy ride and a great way to work off last nights’ indulgences &#8211; of perhaps a bit too many of the delicious “fun foods” offered in this town. Renting a bike is easy! Just ask at the desk for the nearest bike rental shop or check out our list below &#8230;select a vehicle <a href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1016.JPG" title="Low-rider, recumbent bicycle"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1016.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Low-rider, recumbent bicycle" align="right" hspace="5" vspace="5" /></a>– a low rider (recumbent bike), a bicycle built for two, a surrey for two or four or even a bike with a “tag-a-long” for the toddler – then just take off. Feel the breeze; cruise along viewing the beach and surf on one side and the many shops and eateries on the other. It’s easy to hop off your bike along the <a href="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1032.JPG" title="Island Cycle Ocean City MD"><img src="http://oceancitymarylandblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/img_1032.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Island Cycle Ocean City MD" align="left" hspace="5" vspace="5" /></a>way and grab a quick snack. The hours for biking the boards are listed below. Note: Call ahead for open hours during the off-season – most shops open weekends – weather permitting. Wheel chair rentals are available where noted. And, for those of us who choose the easy way &#8211; the &#8220;non-peddler&#8217;s&#8221;, we have <strong>scooters</strong>&#8230;bright, shiny and new! We&#8217;re told the well-marked, bus lane along Coastal Highway is the preferred route for touring our island on mo-peds and scooters. <em>Please ride safely!</em></p>

All day long and into the night the trams roll back and forth along the “boards”, a half hour long ride, the 3-mile stretch from the inlet to 27th Street allowing you to <a href="http://ocstuff.lynnb.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/my-pictures0024.jpg" title="Ocean City MD Beach"><img src="http://ocstuff.lynnb.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/my-pictures0024.thumbnail.jpg" alt="Ocean City MD Beach" align="right" hspace="5" vspace="5" /></a>take in the sights and sounds of our fine beach town – seeing what makes Ocean City the fun place to return, year after year. During your trip you will see so much…from the families trudging across the sand, returning from a long day playing in the surf, to the famed <strong>Kite Loft</strong> kites flying overhead to folks <a href="http://ocstuff.lynnb.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/img_0711.JPG" title="Phillips Beach Plaza Ocean City MD"><img src="http://ocstuff.lynnb.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/img_0711.thumbnail.JPG" alt="Phillips Beach Plaza Ocean City MD" align="left" hspace="5" vspace="5" /></a>dining outside the <strong>Phillips Beach Plaza</strong> boardwalk restaurant listening to live music, shoppers strolling along or people just sitting enjoying the fine sea air. From the Boardwalk Tram you may exit at will…just wave to the attendant &#8211; to experience something interesting you have just seen. And, you may board the same way to enjoy a comfortable ride to an intended destination. The flavors and fun of Ocean City are nearly endless; see ‘em from the <strong>Boardwalk Tram</strong>.</p>
