BIKING the BOARDS…pedal power!
I’ll always remember our early visits to Ocean City, Maryland…then and now, one of the first things to do in the morning is to head out to “bike the boards”. The 2.9 mile stretch of boardwalk is an easy ride and a great way to work off last nights’ indulgences – of perhaps a bit too many of the delicious “fun foods” offered in this town. Renting a bike is easy! Just ask at the desk for the nearest bike rental shop or check out our list below …select a vehicle 
– a low rider (recumbent bike), a bicycle built for two, a surrey for two or four or even a bike with a “tag-a-long” for the toddler – then just take off. Feel the breeze; cruise along viewing the beach and surf on one side and the many shops and eateries on the other. It’s easy to hop off your bike along the 
way and grab a quick snack. The hours for biking the boards are listed below. Note: Call ahead for open hours during the off-season – most shops open weekends – weather permitting. Wheel chair rentals are available where noted. And, for those of us who choose the easy way – the “non-peddler’s”, we have scooters…bright, shiny and new! We’re told the well-marked, bus lane along Coastal Highway is the preferred route for touring our island on mo-peds and scooters. Please ride safely!
